The authors of a recent paper reiterate an idea from a previous paper, namely that the well-known Laplace expansion of the Coulomb potential is incomplete, and claim that, in fact, the correct expansion of the Coulomb potential can be written in terms of some "new spherical Bessel-like functions". We show here that the Laplace expansion of the Coulomb potential is complete and that there exist some wrong formulas in this recent paper that led to the wrong conclusions of it
